BLUE JEANS GO GREEN

Cotton is the common thread

To tell the story of the cotton plant’s cyclical life, we developed a unique stop-motion video for Earth Day entirely constructed from individual stills. The project aimed to highlight sustainability by building an asset library from scratch, significantly reducing denim and fiber waste during production. The library included two styles of letterforms, various textures, hardware elements (such as buttons, zippers, and snaps), and denim clothing pieces. By using these carefully curated assets, we were able to create the video purely in post-production, ensuring a minimal environmental impact while effectively communicating the journey of cotton in a visually compelling way.

BEHIND THE SCENES

Creating a "green" asset library

Creating a "green" asset library

By building this comprehensive library, we were able to leverage a single production budget to set ourselves up for multiple years of content creation.

This approach not only saved time, money, and energy on the current production, but also significantly reduced waste for future productions by shifting from practical to digital solutions.

In doing so, we minimized material waste, enhanced long-term productivity, and demonstrated a commitment to both resource efficiency and sustainable practices, just as our client does each and every day.

The capture of 80+ unique assets enhanced the standard content creation process by layering stills that highlight fabric variations and folds, creating a sense of "static motion."
